WORKHORSE/INDENTURE TIME/UNICORN TRIMMERS: THRESHOLDS
Workhorse/Indenture Time/Unicorn Trimmers, 2024 2025 uses disruptive methodologies of creative inquiry to explore the character of aesthetic mediation, and the regulatory function of mainstream cultural forms in establishing and upholding attitudes to work. Inspired by an Airtasker advert seeking 'unicorn trimmers' and made from garments purchased on vinted from ex deliveroo employees and their relatives, the work considers the reframing of unstable and precarious employment conditions as voluntary self-actualisation through the narrative lens of ‘doing it for the plot
